1. Amazone boat trip
Iquitos, Peru.
(October 1990)

Iquitos is Peru’s biggest
jungle-city, only reachable
by plane or boat. Here, in
the dry season, we set off
for a 5-day boat trip over
the Amazone and Tahuayo river.
Highlights were our search for
an anaconda-snake in half-
flooded jungle and piranha-
fishing/eating.

2. Woman in reed boat
Lake Titicaca, Peru.
(October 1990)

Lake Titicaca at 3856m is the
world’s highest navigable lake.
The amazing floating Uros islands
are made of reeds as well as the
huts and boats that belong to
the people that live there.

3. Inca ruins
Machu Picchu, Peru.
(October 1990)

After a 3-day trek over the
famous Inca-trail through jungle,
mountains and rainy weather
the arrival at the Sun Gate
revealed to us the ruins of
the ancient Inca holy city,
indeed covered in sunlight!
