1. Rock temple
Abu Simbel, Egypt.
(November 1987)

After the plan was made to
make the Aswan-dam, an Unesco-
project was started to save
this and other Nubic monuments
from inundation. The outline
of the temple and interior,
was cut into pieces of approx.
1m. thick and removed from it's
original place to a site 60 meters
higher up, where it is now
part of a concrete structure.

2. Mecca house
Valley of Kings, Egypt.
(November 1987)

The facade of this house
in the famous Valley of Kings,
home to among others the tomb
of Tutanchamon, displays the
journey to Mecca of it's owner.

3. Snefru pyramid
Meydoum, Egypt.
(November 1987)

Though the pyramids of Gizeh
are the most famous ones,
this unfinished pyramid of
King Snefru has a quite
dramatic setting.
